Changelog – Update 1.1

Hello everyone!

After a long series of bugs after bugs after more bugs, I finally managed to reach a stable version of the server, with a lot of new and improved content for you all.

Unreal Realms is a fully PvE server, and I strongly believe in giving players full freedom to create any build they want. It’s my job as a developer not only to allow these possibilities, but also to balance the game so that challenge still exists while creativity and fun can run wild.

That’s why this update took a little longer than I originally planned. I truly put my whole being into making the game as stable, fluid and consistent as possible. I feel confident that we are now at a good point to release this version properly.

So, here are the recent changes.

1) Monster Loot System – Full Rework

  • The entire monster loot system has been redesigned.
  • Monsters now have better drops overall and are differentiated mainly by two factors:
    • Race (example: Undead monsters tend to drop more Death/Undead themed items)
    • Fight Type (melee monsters drop melee weapons more often, ranged monsters drop ranged gear more often, etc.)
  • Bosses now have guaranteed rewards, with stronger and more impactful affixes.
  • Creatures that give no EXP now drop food only, so you can prepare better for hunts.

2) Rarity & Affixes

  • The rarity system keeps the same structure (Common = 1 affix, Uncommon = 2, and so on).
  • The affix system has been reworked so that each rarity represents a clear step up in power.
  • An Uncommon item already feels like a real upgrade, a Rare climbs another step, and so on.
  • This progression is essential for build diversity and long-term balance.
  • I’m currently working on a library to explain every affix in detail, but for now it’s time to explore, experiment and have fun discovering.

3) Monster Souls

  • Monster Souls have been added as a rare special drop.
  • They are a premium currency used for special systems and features in the game.

4) Smart Loot & Containers

  • Loot now intelligently prioritizes bags and backpacks inside corpses.
  • This opens space for fun and variety, including:
    • Different bags and backpacks dropping as loot
    • Special rings and amulets with unique powers (more details coming in the next update)

5) Combat & Balance

  • Monsters received boosts to health, damage, and speed.
  • They are now more dangerous and challenging, but also provide better rewards overall.
  • Fixed a bug where HP and MP were not increasing properly.
  • Fixed a bug where HP/MP regeneration was not working correctly.

6) Stability & Quality of Life

  • Improved autosave flow and safer script execution.
  • Premium players now have access to the !bank system.
  • GMs now have more tools to interact and communicate with players.

7) World, NPCs & Client

  • New monsters and new areas were added to the map (the world is still growing).
  • Several NPCs were fixed and adjusted.
  • A Banker NPC has been added.
  • The Promotion NPC is now working properly.
  • The Equipment NPC now sells backpacks and useful basics.
IMPORTANT: It is imperative that you download the new client. The old client had bugs that were fixed in this version.

8) New Player Experience

  • New players now receive a better starting kit when their characters are created.

Final Notes & Premium Status

Premium accounts are now ACTIVE and READY!

To celebrate the release of Update 1.1, the server will run with Double EXP during the entire weekend.

About Premium Accounts

  • There is no death penalty on the server.
  • No EXP, skills or equipment are lost on death.
  • This rule applies to all players, both Free and Premium.
Looking ahead, the next update will focus on expanding the Premium experience even further, including:
  • A Market system for player trading
  • Mounts and skins
  • A full Premium system rework to make it even more interesting

Premium players are directly supporting the growth of the server. These are the first real steps of Unreal Realms, and the people supporting it now are the ones who will help shape its future.

Changelog – Open Test Update 1.1

The first thing I want to share is that, different from other games, when an update is announced here, I'll separate it in a X number of steps, so I can slowly work on then, while sharing the progress with you all. Once all steps are completed, then the update will be officially online.

For this first update, Version 1.1, the steps will be:

STEP 1 – New Content

  • Added a new Jungle hunting area with Hydras and other jungle creatures.
  • ✔️ DONE
  • Reorganized NPCs and made them more useful for players.
  • ✔️ DONE
  • Started developing new beginner areas:
    • Cyclops
    • ✔️ DONE
    • Minotaurs
    • ✔️ DONE
    • Dwarves
    • ✔️ DONE

STEP 2 – Balance & Systems

  • Ongoing adjustments to item tier balance.
  • ✔️ DONE
  • New website page in development explaining loot system, lore, and monster boosts.
  • ⏸ ON HOLD

STEP 3 – Known Issues (Fix Phase)

  • Money sometimes not stacking correctly unless the player relogs.
  • ✔️ DONE
  • Items with HP/Mana regeneration showing inconsistent behavior.
  • ✔️ DONE
  • Items that add flat HP/Mana not updating properly before relogging.
  • ✔️ DONE


Each new objective completed will need a server restart, so be aware that they may happen at any moment and only take literally 5 seconds to be back.

WELCOME ALL TO THIS AMAZING DAY!




We are online with all systems going strong and the joy of seeing new players connecting to my OT-Server is UNREAL!



To have my own OT-Server online, ready to have people playing in it was a dream of mine since I was little. And the crazy part is that I tried to make it work in so many different ways, but eventually I got tired from failing, knowing that in the future, with better technology, maturity and expertise, I would probably be able to make it happen.

And here we are. Finally!



My goal is to create and share more and more of my ideas here, to make this server a place for fun and good times for everyone.



Thanks so much for being here with me and keep an eye on the News and Changelog pages of this website, because it's in those pages that I'll be sharing which new updates are being released (or are under development), the known bugs at the moment and the ones who got fixed.
